If you have been on your own for a while, or recently been dumped, you might be wondering if you will ever find a partner. You may feel lonely and a little down and while you would love to meet someone special, you don't know if you can face getting back on the dating scene.

Then you see an advert for a new website that looks kind of cool, a dating website which matches partners according to any criteria you choose – well almost!! You take a look, just out of curiosity, and you click on the link that says Read more here.

Only out of curiosity, remember you are not actually intending to do anything… Then your eye catches Mr Forty Something, dark eyes, six foot tall with short hair. Soon you find yourself uploading your profile. He messages you back and you wonder whether to reply… out of curiosity still.

So OK, he seems quite normal, doesn't seem like a mad axe murderer so you decide to meet him for a date. Nothing serious, of course, just a pizza and a chat.

Six months later you are walking down the aisle of your local church, with Mr Forty Something. What was just a bit of banter on the dating site message service has turned out to be slightly longer term! It is a good job that curiosity got the better of you!
